ECOTOURISM IN ECUADOR & LATIN AMERICA

In Ecuador, the Andean and Amazon ethnic groups are numerous, fabulous; they keep their rich and genuine traditions. They represent the 12% of the whole population (9% Indian and 3% afro), mostly regrouped in the Andes; whereas in the Jungle, most of people are Indian.

The main Andean ethnic groups are the Otovlenian, Saraguro, Puruhae and in the jungle: Quichua, Huaorani, Shiwiar (in way of extinction), Cofan Secova, Shuar, Ashuar…

Our fair trade or eco touristic human programs in Ecuador like in Latin America invite you to share and get to know the local or Indigenous communities, the rural population, their way of life, customs, gastronomy and daily activities in variable immersion programs depending on which program you choose…

Your participation will help to the « surviving » ethnic groups and rural population to get better economic resources, and let them preserve their culture, avoid to sell their natural resources, lands, forests (the “lung” of the planet) to the forest and oil companies and to reduce the destruction of the jungle biodiversity and environment.

During those programs, we offer you the accommodation in the Indigenous people’s houses, huts, camps or rural inns; generally typical meals of the community or the region.

The educational and manual activities included in all our programs are varied, such as: walks, canoe trips, discovery of the flora and wildlife, swimming in rivers or lakes, piranha fishing, gold washing, cultural exchanges, gun blowing, meeting with a “Shaman “, Had-craft making, custom practices, knowledge of the community and hand craft cooperative systems, participating in farming and domestic tasks.

OUR PROGRAM «HUMANITARIAN PERU » OF 10 DAYS

Another trip with multiple activities, historical, cultural, sports, social, volunteering trips; exploring the most famous touristic sites, in Peru like: Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Pisac… in contact and working with the Indigenous communities in order to improve their schools, paths/tracks... or carrying out farming work. Possibility to add an extension to the lake Titicaca or Inca Trail.

With an “extraterrestrial” Andean landscape of the Uyuni Salt desert, the “Altiplano” scattered of lamas, the historical Potosi mines; going all over the higher city of the world: la Paz and sharing the Indigenous people’s accommodation and way of life, remote rural populations; and the hand craft cooperatives experience.

OUR PROGRAM «SOCIAL CUBA » OF 15 DAYS

Specially recommended for young groups and amateurs of the present Cuban social system. It offers multiple activities and touristic, cultural and historical sites with social, political, gastronomical, philosophical characteristics of Cuba; also including hard work volunteering time, mostly in farming camps, without forgetting the parties with rhythm by Cuban styled music and dance.
