Ecuador, also victim of the Covid-19<\/h1>

On 11 March, the World Health Organization described the Covid-19, coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan at the end of December 2019 as a “pandemic”. To date, tens of thousands of cases have been confirmed in China and many other countries (European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control<\/a>).<\/h2>

In Ecuador (https:\/\/coronavirusecuador.com\/),<\/a> a national state of health emergency has been declared.<\/h4>


The Government of Ecuador has prohibited all foreigners and Ecuadorians from arriving via air, land, or sea. As of March 17.<\/strong> Ecuador has also prohibited domestic passenger flights and restricted entry to the Galapagos Islands. At this time, we understand these restrictions are scheduled to be in place until April 5.<\/p>

The Government of Ecuador has restricted movement throughout the country with very limited exceptions and imposed a curfew from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. (changing to 2 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Wednesday, March 25)<\/strong>. Local jurisdictions have enacted additional restrictions, the curfew in Guayas and Santa Elena province as well as in the Galapagos Islands, is from 4 p.m. to 5 a.m. These restrictions can change at any time. U.S. citizens should comply with all local laws and monitor local news for any updates.<\/p>

In these circumstances, travel to Ecuador should be postponed until the situation can be restored.<\/strong><\/h4>
